本着为学生负责、切实帮助学生的原则,LOCSS的家长会模式是本班外教班主任、中教班主任分别和每位孩子、家长谈孩子学习、生活情况,一起讨论孩子的问题,一起鼓励孩子,一起想切实可行的策略和行动计划。老师们很客观地将孩子平时的表现告诉家长,肯定孩子经过努力得到的进步,并诚恳地说出孩子学习生活中的问题,孩子会在家长和老师面前说说自己的想法,家校双方一起想办法帮助孩子解决这些问题,每一次交谈都会对孩子的进步起到一定帮助作用。

LOCSS家长会还有一个特点是家长的接待工作由学生会志愿者完成。学生们在接待家长时表现出了礼貌、自信的一面,孩子们通过这样的志愿者工作提高协调能力和待人接物的能力。

In order to help our students, LOCSS Parent-Teacher interviews are conducted as follows: one BC teacher, one student, and one or both of their parents in a private session talking about the student’s progress; teachers tell parents how the student is doing; the teachers and parents praise the student’s strength, talk about the student’s problems, especially some bad habits and wrong study method, and then they propose a plan or method to make student better.

On PTS days, the reception work is done by the students themselves as volunteers. By doing this kind of work, they show their good manners, develop confidence interacting with parents, and improve their social ability.
