Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to attend our ceremony.

In 1938, for the Chinese people’s liberation, the Canadian surgical doctor Norman Bethune went to China, carrying his medical instruments and surgical technology, but laid down his life during the military medical work in China. The Chinese people could cherish the memory of Dr Bethune forever, the friendships between the Chinese and Canadian people will last forever, and we should become the goodwill messengers of the Sino-Canadian friendships.

In the recent years, millions of Chinese students came to Canada for further education. Many of them stayed in Canada for their job, or for scientific research. Many Canadian professors, experts, and students went to China for visit, work and study. This will promote the exchanges and corporation between the two countries.

For adaptation to our future university life in Canada, the major purpose of this summer school in British Columbia Province should be to understand the Canadian society, culture, education, and language. Arrived in Vancouver, actually Maple Ridge, we chose to study English and Social Studies. We felt the different teaching environment and methods. We were given lessons with the students from different countries in the world. Through the communication, we learnt from each other, benefited a lot, and also made much progress. The Social Studies 11 is difficult for us, including a lot of new vocabulary, new knowledge, and new informations. Under the tutorship of Canadian teachers, we could adjust us to studying this course step by step.

Under the shepherd of Director Zhang Hong, Ms. He Jiayuan, Ms. Li, Ms. Yin, and Ms. Xi, we have visited the City Hall,  Capilano Suspension Bridge, Burnaby Village Museum, Stanley Park, Gastown, Chinatown, Granville Island,  Peace Arch Park and etc, and we will visit several universities and colleges in BC Province. These are the typical images of the Canadian culture. This is not only a shock of view, it also leave the unforgettable impression to us. At school, we learnt solidarity and cooperation, as well as mutual help. Furthermore, we celebrated the one hundred and fiftieth birthday of Canada with all of you together. This is the pride of the Canadian people.

Thank you to our Chinese leading teachers, especially to Director Zhang Hong. For this summer school, you not only made a detailed plan, but also worked hard everyday for us. Thank you to the officers of the Ministry of Education for your extraordinary arrangement and guidance. Besides, we need to say thank you to our Canadian teachers—You have been teaching very hard for us. Thank you to all of the homestay families—You provide us the safe, warm and comfortable homes.

We will soon go back to our own country-China, with great harvest. We must make more effort after returning to China. We should have more communication and cooperation with each other, and should make mutual progress. And we shouldn’t forget the friendships between us and all the students from different countries. Just as the President of China, Xi Jinping said,” Roll up our sleeves to work harder.” We shall meet each other in Canada in two years.

       Thank you very much!
